I have noticed that Ultimate Auction Plug in conflicts with Yoast SEO. It destroys Yoast’s character remaining counts, and focus keyword usage counts.

This was isolated by deactivating Ultimate Auction Plug in (character counts return), activate plug in and they disappear again.

Is there any work around/fix for this?

    Hi,

Sorry for delayed reply. Could you please help me replicate the problem?

    I did below:

    1. Activated Ultimate auction free plugin version 3.5.0
    2. Installed and activated latest Yoast SEO plugin.
    3. Added a new WP page. Inside Page edit mode -> WordPress seo by yoast -> focus keyword -> I do not see any issue there.

Could you please let me know which portion is conflicted?

    Regards,
    Nitesh

    Hi Nitesh,

Yes adding a keyword is fine. However, under the keyword you normally then see:
    Focus Keyword: Happy Holidays
    Focus keyword usage
Your focus keyword was found in:

    Article Heading: Yes (1)
    Page title: Yes (1)
    Page URL: Yes (1)
    Content: Yes (3)
    Meta description: Yes (1)

Then under Meta Description you would see:
The meta description will be limited to 156 chars, 61 chars left.

With Ultimate Auction Plug in activated this is what is displayed for me:

    Focus Keyword: Happy Holidays
The meta description will be limited to 156 chars, chars left.

As you will see the keyword counts, and characters left on meta descriptions disappear… I’m thinking this is some sort of Javascript conflict.

    Cheers,

    Mark

Bump? Any resolve on this as yet?

This plugin does indeed clash with yoast SEO plugin, my yoast worked fine now it tells me i have too long a title, so i tried one letter title and still yoast tells me its too long. Everything worked fine before this plugin was installed.

    Hi hcassust,

I tried your scenario and observe that line: The meta description will be limited to 156 chars, chars left.

….that you have complained appears even if ultimate auction is not at all present on website. The exact same line appears when Meta description field is empty. When I write something then it shows correct char left count.

Question: Did you get this line: The meta description will be limited to 156 chars, chars left.….when Meta description field had some value.

    Hi Apache39,

    Here is my current config.
    WP version – 4.1
Ultimate WordPress Auction Plugin version – 3.6.0
    WordPress SEO version – 1.7.1

Question – And I’m not getting this error. Could you please let me know above versions for your site?

In-case you are using recent versions, please email me nitesh[at]auctionplugin.net so that I could help you offline.

    Regards,
    Nitesh

    Hi,
There is a conflict between the most recent versions of both plugins:
Auction 3.6 and Yoast SEO 2.0.1

    WP 4.1.1

    The error is as follows:
If you have a page that does not have a custom Title that you type in it gives you an error message and also doesn’t put in a standard title.
Looks to be a Javascript Conflict. When I have both active I get this error:

[Error] Error: no such method 'instance' for menu widget instance

    	fireWith (load-scripts.php, line 2)
    	ready (load-scripts.php, line 2)

Disable one or the other and it disappears.

    Thanks.
