The Jetpack plugin requires you to connect to a WordPress.com account to be fully activated.

To do so, you will have to create a WordPress.com account here:
    https://en.wordpress.com/signup/?user=1

If you had previously created an account, but forgot the password, you can request a new password by entering your email address here:
    http://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
Please follow the instructions carefully. You’ll receive an email during the reset process, so make sure you read it for important instructions. If you don’t receive the email right away, check your spam folders as well. The confirmation email can get caught in them sometimes.

Please note that WordPress.com accounts are different from the account you use to administrate your blog. WordPress.com and self-hosted blogs available through WordPress.org are two different entities.
Please check out the following links to learn the differences.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi Jeremy,

    Thank you for your response.

I switched from wordpress.com to a self hosted site on GoDaddy.

The wordpress app will let me see, modify and save my posts but it wont let me upload my posts or see my site stats without logging into Jetpack.

The username and password I use to log in to my self hosted site do not work when I try to log in to jetpack through the wordpress app.

    KR,
    Rob

That’s correct. You’ll need to use your WordPress.com account credentials to log in to Jetpack through the WordPress app.

The account has to be the one you used to connect Jetpack to WordPress.com in the first place, under the Jetpack menu in your dashboard.

I cannot log in to access Jetpack.
I get the message to use my username not my email address.
I have no idea what my username is wordpress.com I have had my wordpress account for over 7 years and always logged in through my email address.

My other websites have Jetpack and it connected with no problems. This is only an issue within the last 3 weeks.

    Thanks for your help.

@shazaus If you’re having trouble logging in to your WordPress.com account, I’d suggest resetting your password here, using your account email address:
    http://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword

If that doesn’t help, you can use this account recovery form to contact us so we can help you regain access to your account:
