• I have developed a theme and when I go and try and submit it for review I get the following message:

There is already a theme called ‘my_theme_name’ by a different author. Please change the name of your theme in style.css and upload it again.

Before I decided on the name I searched the theme repository and there is no theme with that name. I would prefer keeping the name since to keep everything matching I would need to change a bunch of textdomains and the like. Is this just a glitch or are there hidden names that don’t show in search but are “reserved” by an invisible name? If there are themes that are hidden from search is there a way to check if a name you want to use is already in use by one of them (I’d rather not try name after name consider what all needs to be changed to keep everything matching).

It seems the forum is mostly used for theme specific problems. Is there a better place to ask my question?
