Added a Field to User Profile – Cannot retrieve in code

    I’ve added 1 additional field to the user profile form. The new field is named MachineID. The registration and profile forms work perfectly as expected. On another page, I have code that need to retrieve MachineID but I don’t seem to ba able to get it. I have tried calling:

    get_currentuserinfo

    and

    get_user_meta

    without success. How can I access this value back in code?
