Add a daterange in your shortcode, you can type upcoming & past to filter what you want:
Past:
[event-list filterbar_items=”daterange(item_order=past)”]
Upcoming:
[event-list filterbar_items=”daterange(item_order=upcoming)”]
Both:
[event-list filterbar_items=”daterange(item_order=upcoming&past)”]
Hi there, I’m having the same problem.
When I added the shortcode you suggested to the page, and updated, it didn’t make a difference. Still only the upcoming events are shown in the widget.
Any ideas?

I refer to the original question on how to use past events in the widget. I can’t find a way to put the shortcode in the widget’s settings. Appreciate some hint.
