    Good Morning,

I have updated to WP 4.1, updated the nextgen to 2.0.66.37 and also updated all other plugins. I’ve cleared cache as well but unfortunately the slideshow doesn’t appear to be working if I log into my site with my iphone, all the images are listed one beneath the other when I choose the slideshow option.

Is there an easy way to fix this?

    Thank you for your assistance!

    Grace

@grace Massa Langlois – It might help with providing a link to the page/post where you are seeing this issue.

    Thanks!

@grace Massa Langlois – My guess with the 1000+ error messages in the browser console is something could be going on with a conflict in a JavaScript / jQuery related item.

Try deactivating *all* plugins, then reactivate NextGEN Gallery only (maybe temporarily switch to a default WordPress Twenty series theme, too) and see if this problem persists.

    Hi Cais,

Disclosure not very technically inclined, how do I switch to a default WordPress Twenty series theme?

    Hi Cais,

I deactivated all the plugins and added them back one by one with loading the slideshow in between. Everything was fine until I reactivated W3 Total Cache, any idea how I can clear up the conflict?

@grace – caching plugins like W3 can be great, and will work with its default settings on most sites – outside of the default settings, you’ll need to adjust each setting carefully as even small adjustments can cue significant changes. Another option is to try a different caching plugin, again start with the default settings whenever possible.

    Hi Drew,

I don’t believe I changed any of the default settings, because to be frank, I wouldn’t have a clue what to change them too.

Do you think I should reset the settings just in case? (I’ll take screen shots of the setting before doing so.)

@grace – That’s really up to you – it may be worth it to try deactivating and deleting the plugin, then re-installing it fresh – or trying a different plugin altogether. Either way, if the current settings are incompatible than it wont’ hurt to try some adjustments.

    Best,

    Good Afternoon,

I’ve started receiving this error, Recently an error occurred while creating the CSS / JS minify cache: File “/home/gracessw/public_html/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/js/ngg.slideshow.min.js” doesn’t exist – should this file exist?

Sorry, one more question, this js file appears in the source code of my photography page but the page is empty, is the URL incorrect – wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/nextgen_basic_gallery/static/thumbnails/nextgen_basic_thumbnails.js?ver=4.1??

Thanks so much for your help!

@grace Massa Langlois – Please do not use “minify” caching … it will often break NextGEN Gallery (and some other plugins as well).

    Thanks!

    Good Morning Cais,

    I’ve disabled minify.

Is the file I mentioned in previous post suppose to be empty?

Also, any idea how I can eliminate the render-blocking javascript and css, see below.

    /wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/ajax/static/ajax.js?ver=4.1

    /wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/ajax/static/persist.js?ver=4.1

    /wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/ajax/static/store.js?ver=4.1

    /wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/ajax/static/ngg_store.js?ver=4.1

    /wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/lightbox/static/lightbox_context.js?ver=4.1

    /wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/nextgen_gallery_display/static/nextgen_gallery_related_images.css?ver=4.1

@grace Massa Langlois – I’m not sure what you are referring to with “eliminate the render-blocking javascript and css” … the only JavaScript issues I am seeing on your site are related to your advertising and “mismatched domains” as reported in the browser console.

    Thanks!

    – Cais.

    Good Morning Cais,

Honestly not making it up, see attached screen shot.

I’m not sure what you’re referring to when you say mismatched domains, I didn’t see anything indicated in the report. But if you could point them out to me so that I can correct them I would be most appreciative.

@grace Massa Langlois – I understand what you are “reporting” from your Google PageSpeed analysis. I look to our next version of NextGEN Gallery (2.0.68+) to sort out most of that issue.

As to the console errors … see http://take.ms/IqdEz (a partial listing from my Safari console window).
