Can’t login into my own blog. Problem with folder in my Root server
-
It’s a long story that I will try to make short. This problem sort of snowballed for me. Please help!
I wanted to create a static page you would see when you go to the mail url of my site slapclap.com. To do so at one point I created a folder in my root directory and I created a new index.php file for that folder as well as a new template file for that folder. Then I went into my Dashboard>Admin panel>Settings>General and I changed both the main Blog URL and the WordPress URL to http://slapclap.com/nameofthefolder. I set it up so that the blog would point to that new folder I created in my root directory. Then all hell broke loose. I could not access my site any longer. Realizing my mistake I tried going back into Settings but received a cache error message.
After a lot of stops and starts I ended up copying all of my root directory files into the new folder I created in the root directory. Now the site shows no problem but I can not login into my Dashboard using my already exisiting username/password. I am afraid to delete the folder I created in the root directory and then not be able to access the site again.
What can I do to solve this problem? I just need to get back to my original state and make sure I change the Settings>General Blog and WordPress URLs to point directly to my site and not that subfolder.
Thank you,
Michael
