I need to find a way of easily tracking outbound clicks that are the result of users clicking links I have created using Simple URLs.

I would like to do this using either Events or Goals in Google Analytics. If I use the Analytics Campaigns URL builder (link below) do I enter the original URL (the one I’m shrinking) into the top URL box, or should I shrink the URL (using Simple URLs first), enter that into the top box on the tool below, and then use the resulting URL (with appended data) when linking out from my site?

  • You cannot use tracking scripts with redirects.

Redirects have to be interjected into the output before any content & output terminated after the redirect. If there is more output the browser ignores the redirect.

I’m usint WP Maintenance Mode and entered the URL of my Simple URLs into the exclusion list, but the pages yield a maintenance message instead of redirecting. Is there a plugin that works with Simple URLs or maybe I’m missing something with WP Maintenance Mode? Thanks for any help.

I apologize for posting this question in this unrelated thread. I have created a new thread with a pertinent title, if anyone would like to offer advice.

I suppose you could use Google Tag Manager – although I haven’t figured out how to use it yet.
