Comments awaiting moderation does not exist

    Hello! This is a problem I have on several blogs, and it has existed for a year on some of them. The problem is that when I look in the WordPress menu on the top it shows plugins that needs updated and next to it comments awaiting moderation. On several blogs the comments awaiting moderation shows 1, 2, 3 or 4 comments, but once I press it, no comments show up at all. At the page it also shows pending comments to for example 4, but once I press pending, nothing shows up.

    There are no comments in the spam filter or elsewhere, so can not find those comments anywhere. Anyone had similar problems, able to give advices or help?

    try a few basic troubleshooting steps:
    – deactivating ALL plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem (plugin functions can interfere). If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s).
    – If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the unedited default Twenty Fourteen Theme for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).
