can you explain more what you mean by mail?

it sounds like you are asking how to get a WordPress plugin to work inside an email that is sent from your website.

I really want to help you, but you need to be more clear.

Contact form allows a website visitor to fill out a form and have the results emailed from your WordPress site to an email address. This address might even land in your inbox. Regardless, sent emails are viewed (and printed) using an email client such as Outlook, Thunderbird or Gmail.

Print-O-Matic allows a website visitor to print out sections of a post or page in a print-friendly view.

At what point in that process did you want to print the email sent from your website?

to be more specific, you want a ‘print button’ inside the content of your email, so that the person receiving the email can click on an icon and it will print the email. is that correct?

if so, this will not work, as the plugin is for WordPress, and will only work as designed when the person wanting to ‘print’ is visiting your site.

Sorry, this is just the way email works. Issue marked as resolved.

    Hello,

Does this include using the Print-O-Matic plugin?

    Thanks in advance.

@gioglifx: what do you mean, exactly? what are you trying to do?

I’m looking to add a ‘print button’ inside the content of the email received through Contact Form 7, so that the person receiving the email can click on an icon/link/button/etc to print the email.

I did see your answer to “usmdev”, but I wonder if Print-O-Matic may be used in conjunction with CF7 perhaps?

    I’ve tried:
    <a href="#" onclick="window.print(); return false;">Print</a>

But of course, this doesn’t play well with email clients. Blah!

If being able to print an email is still not possible, what would you suggest as an alternative or the closest thing? I use CF7 as the number one choice for 99.9999% of websites and am looking for… well you know, the above.. 🙂

    Thank you in advance.

There is no way for an email to be able to control the email client like that.

Thank you very much for your reply. I truly appreciate your response in this salad mix of bacon bits.. 😉

    Kind regards.

are you, by chance, working on a cookbook? seems a popular target for ‘those that want a dead tree version of a digital thing’…

LOL, nah just looking for another way to do it. I know it’s hard since different browsers don’t all play by the same “rules”.

Services like Mailchimp and Campaign Monitor do have this feature of “view in browser” button but are not really contact forms per se.

The main idea is to be able to view the generated email content onto a web page so that the normal HTML and CSS rules apply, like @media print queries, etc..

    The printed possibilities, whoof!

Though it is possible as others have been able to implement it, I do realize that it’s not available within CF7. I truly thank you for your responses and your effort. I certainly thank you for your contribution.

    Many, many thanks!

    Best regards.
