No post text on index pages

I was wondering if there is any easy way to display no post text on index pages of WordPress, regardless of a theme used. Would you say, that there may be a plugin for this (I could not find any, but I did not search for to long), or would it require custom coding? If custom coding of every theme used is needed, how would I go about displaying images within the posts, but no text?
