Akismet plug-in is causing Add Media and Insert Link Buttons to Fail

    Hi,

    My Add Media and Insert Link buttons were not working. I deactivated all my plug-ins and reactivated them one by one to determine the problem and Akismet was the culprit. I currently have Akismet deactivated and my media and insert link buttons are working. But, I would like to be able to reactivate Akismet.

    I’m using Akismet version 3.0.3 with WordPress version 4.0.1.

    Is there a fix for this?

    Hi Sarah,

    I cannot replicate this error with the same versions installed and activated. Are you getting any errors?

    Hi Joey,

    Thanks so much for getting back to me. I was not getting any error message…just the dead Add Media and Insert Link buttons.

    I got a fatal error message for Yoast Breadcrumbs, but deactivated that. I tried reactivating Akismet after deactivating Yoast BC, but it still didn’t help.

    The only way everything is operational is with both Akismet and Yoast Breadcrumbs deactivated.

    Hi Sarah, what theme are you using? That can sometimes be a contributing factor.

    Also, what browser are you using?
