How do I create a "Home" menu tab for the default front page???

    I’m mystified. With most themes the default front/home page is the blog page – check.
    I know how to create a static page titled ‘Home’, select it as my front page, then create a main menu with a ‘Home’ tab so I have a functional nav bar – check.
    But if I create a main menu and want to assign a ‘home’ tab to this default/front/blog page there seems to be no way to make it happen. What am I missing?!!
