Sites getting many auto spambots – honeypot

    i’ve read your several posts on warning NOT to use honeypot unless we think we’re being hit by auto spambots, which i think is my case. can you explain in more detail why activating honeypot is not a good idea?

    i have 10 sites on one VPS account and all have been blacklisted by MSN, 3 times now.

    i have small capture
    akismet
    and now my last action i guess is honeypot.
    i was using WP Fastest Cache but disabled it because it had conflicts with ithemes security, so i hoped to enable it soon.

    can i someone make your Capture more difficult?

    ps. it can’t be just my wordpress sites getting hammered by spambots in the last 9 months?

    Hi freshwater I understand what you are saying as I am also receiving a lot of spam.

    I am currently using the following security plugin which is helping me a lot 🙂

    You will find that the above plugin will help you a lot plus make sure that your other plugins are up to date.

    Have you also got enough security set up on your VPS?
