• I installed the plugin and thought it very good though I needed more functions. So, I decided to purchase the premium version.

However, I discovered that to be able purchase I have register and submit my home address and email. These are personal details that are of absolutely NO relevance when purchasing a digital or electronic feature/item/application.

So, I query why you feel this information is necessary before you allow people to purchase this premium plugin?

This really is not a review and doesn’t belong here but I’ll let it go. Commercial questions aren’t for here, they’re for the author’s site.

Good for you! I myself have purchased “premium” versions of plugins and I am rarely disappointed.

However, I discovered that to be able purchase I have register and submit my home address and email. These are personal details that are of absolutely NO relevance when purchasing a digital or electronic feature/item/application.

I have not looked to see if that’s the case or not but keep in mind that credit card processing companies do require information like that.

That’s an attempt to keep fraud down and when I’ve purchased software online I have had to submit my email, home address, phone number and the name of my first born.

Yes, that last one was made up but I hope you get the idea.

Also some plugin authors provide support for the premium version on a subscription model. If you do not submit your email and create an account with them, how will they provide you with support?

What author’s do on their site is really not something that can or should be reported to WordPress.ORG. It’s not a WordPress.ORG site and there is nothing anyone can do about it here.

If an author or anyone is misbehaving in the forums or with their hosted be WordPress.ORG plugin then sure. You can report that.

But if an author makes it a requirement to validate users with their address and email then you do have a recourse. Don’t buy the premium version.

In fairness you are right about the email address. However, having bought countless themes, plugins, fonts and other web design ephemera over the years using my credit card or Paypal (in this case I was going to use Paypal) I have never, ever once been asked to submit my home address when registering.

And yes, I did have a recourse, I did not buy the premium version.

    Thank you for your reply.

Hi Illusio and Jan Dembowski ,

Thank You for your concern 🙂

For normal checkout with paypal, we don’t need to provide your address. But some our customer is not willing pay with paypal do some issue. So we provice 2checkout payment method. With 2checkout the user is required to fill the user address to complete the order.
