Cannot build index

    I have a site with a bunch of plugins and also WooCommerce. When I install Relevanssi and try to build index with no changes at all it only show a blank screen with the text “Relevanssi Search Options” and then it locks. Nothing is indicated what is happning. When I reload the site it still say that I do not have any index built.

    WooCommerce shortcode is causing problems, most likely. Next version of Relevanssi will probably fix this, meanwhile disable the shortcode expansion setting in Relevanssi and rebuild the index.

    Hi Alexander,

    I was having the same issue with one of my projects as well. For me, the temporary fix was to uncheck a box in the Relevanssi settings with a label that says Expand shortcodes in post content.

    After I saved that, I was able to build the index and continue on with my life.

    This particular project wasn’t using shortcodes to generate dynamic content, so unchecking this didn’t cause any searching issues for me. Just keep in mind the potential indexing consequences of unchecking this box. Good luck!
