    (1) Featured Image does not show when using Publicize

It does appear on my end:
    http://i.wpne.ws/YbpE

If you’ve only applied to get your domain whitelisted for Twitter Cards, it’s possible that it took a bit of time for Twitter to accept your application and start displaying the images.

    (2) Is this different from using Twitter Cards? – Twitter Cards do not work (Validator show no cards) when I have Yoast SEO enabled

That’s the same as Twitter Cards. Twitter Cards meta tags provide information for Twitter to build the cards. Looking at your site, the tags seem to be there, and use the correct Twitter username and the correct image.

Is it possible that you previously did not activate the twitter cards under SEO > Social in your dashboard?

    (3) How to change “tweeted via” – it seems that publicized posts are made via “wordpress.com”

That also seems fixed, as per the screenshot above.

Is there anything else I can do for you?

Hi Jeremy, thanks for the reply.

I recently managed to get my Twitter Cards validated. – so that may changed a few things

    Just to clarify the following
    (1) Using WordPress SEO by Yoast automatically disables Jetpack’s Publicize’s twitter cards metatags – I would need to activate them under SEO > Social specifically.
    – Is this right?

    (2) Talon (Android Twitter Client) actually shows that tweet of mine as tweeted “via WordPress.com”

    (3) Is it possible for Publicize to actually upload an image using the featured image so the tweet actually shows a picture in all kinds of twitter clients (this is actually the specific functionality I would like)

    That’s correct.

The tweets are still posted by the WordPress.com app, that is listed on this page in your account:
    https://twitter.com/settings/applications

If you’d like the tweets to be posted by a custom application, with the name of your site maybe, you’d have to use another automatic sharing plugin that allows you to use your own twitter app.

    (3) Is it possible for Publicize to actually upload an image using the featured image so the tweet actually shows a picture in all kinds of twitter clients

I can’t guarantee that it will work in all twitter clients, but now that Twitter Cards are working on your site, your Featured Image should be displayed below your tweets in the official clients. Here is how it looks on Twitter for Android, for example:

If the images are not displayed in a client you use, I’d suggest contacting the developers and asking them if they plan on adding support for Twitter Cards.

thanks for the clarification, Jeremy. It really helps!

just one question though – something I observed with the Twitter Card Validator.

Without Yoast WordPress SEO twitter cards enabled, I have about 17 meta tags

With it enabled, I have about 24 meta tags.

If it’s gonna be just a replacement in a sense, shouldn’t I see 24 meta tags as well? (Or does the Yoast plugin add more meta tags to get the same functionality?)

I believe Yoast adds a few more tags that Jetpack doesn’t, but these seem to be optional tags at the moment. We are continuously improving Jetpack, and if more tags become necessary, we’ll add them.
