Hyper cache, html compression and Facebook sharing

    Hi,

    This is a weird problem we’ve been experiencing. We’ve been seeing some pages get the weird characters, so I turned off the compression.

    Now, the issue is that when I do that, FB sharing goes nuts, no description is shown, no title and no images.

    The moment I turn it back on, I get regular sharing, with the occasional weird encoding/compression issue.

    I checked the html of the page when the sharing issue happens, and I noticed it

    Did anyone get this issue before? Here’s some info:

    WordPress: 4.0
    Plugins used: WP-Minify, WordPress SEO, DB Cache Reloaded Fix, and a bunch of others that shouldn’t be causing any sort of issue.

    Hi ZohraS have you tried disabling all your other plugins except this one and carrying out another test?

    Hi, if the compression is causing problems you should turn it off and empty the whole cache.

    mbrsolution : I tried. Nothing.

    Stefano Lissa : I did that, then, I got the Facebook sharing issues. That’s the thing, no matter how I went, it didn’t work as planned.

    I finally had to take the plugin off the website, and go with a paid alternative. With your plugin in place, the site would usually load at about 4 seconds and a half. With this new one, we’re under two seconds.

    I don’t know if it’s the architecture of the server (Nginx + Apache) that was the thing making everything go down, but I just couldn’t keep using a plugin that was giving me so many issues.

    Sorry, I had so much to do I completely forgot about this.

    I went with WP Rocket. It worked seamlessly, didn’t really even have to configure things, it just worked beautifully.

    I don’t get what was causing it. It was either one or the other, and the client was furious, since it was a news website. I just had to switch. Sorry man.
