Very simple event post type

    Hi!

    What I want to achieve is to have an extremely easy and minimalistic event management on my WP page. I have already a post category called Events. I need only to add to that a nice two fields: date and hour. i want to show such posts in regular loop and in a dedicated page as well. Currently i am using get_posts() to achieve that.

    How can I prepare such addon to regular post type? through Custom Post Types only or there is some easier way? i dont want to use any extra fancy plugin with multiple functionalities buecase simply i dont need them.

    2 ideas to consider if you would rather stay away from any event or calendar plugins

    use custom fields (no plugin needed) with regular post types.

    use conductorplugin for display of posts grouped in specific ways
    lightweight + very flexible but not a free plugin. c
