• Hi there,

I am new here and relatively new to wordpress, so I appreciate your help with this.

Also, it’s worth saying up front that I am not particularly code or script literate, so I am hoping there is a fix that isn’t beyond me 😉

I have done an import from .com and I am having issues with a whole load of legacy posts.

In these posts the attached images are not displaying.

But when you click through the image is attached.

Fixes I have tried to date, with no luck:

The images are attached to the posts in media library, but I have tried re-attaching with a plugin to no avail. The file name structure is the same as successful posts, but I have tried renaming the files using a plugin. I have also downloaded all images to media library (in case it was an old import issue)… And now I don’t know what to do.

    Help!

    Thanks everyone, very much appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Ben

  • uhm sorry but the image is not at that path you specified. Clear any cache on both the server (Cache plugin) and from your local browser and look again. If the image is on your server at an other path delete the old image from your library and upload it again or use the “Add From Server” plugin to import it back into your library.

WARNING: make sure you have a backup of the image on your local computer before removing it from your library.

    Thanks for the replay jberghem.

You’re right, that was cached in the browser.

It is here though (below) and has the right parent in the media library.

I will try the options you’ve suggested.

The issue is it is over 100 or so post images..

Sorry, one more thing, if I follow the re-uploading or adding them from the server route is that going to solve the broken attachment issue?

Won’t they just be in the media library again as (partially) orphaned images?

Again, I really appreciate your time and help 🙂

Well then the problem is obvious now…
The quickest least complicated way to solve this problem is to move (or copy) the “2006” folder into the wp-content/uploads/ folder on your server.

You will have to do that on the server, not withing WP. With an FTP program would be simplest.

If you have orphan files in your library cos you moved them, you can delete the orphans from your library and re-add them using the “Add From Server” plugin

Thanks jbeghem, I will give that a try now.

Quick update: “add from server” isn’t working unfortunately, once i delete it from the library it has gone from the server..

I am starting to think this is a date / time stamp issue, probably stemming from the import.

The dates are correct on the post and file, but are wrong in media library for both the parent and the image.. There are no pre-2011 images in the library, everything in there seems to have been given a post – 2011 date…
