• If anyone can help me on this, I’d be very thankful.

I notice that my website was tanking in SEO suddenly for unexplained reasons. It’s a fairly new site where I blog a couple of times a week and I’ve not broken any of the SEO “rules” as far as I can tell. So, I looked into Google Webmaster Tools and it is showing that my website has a bunch of 404 errors – pretty much each and every page and post on my site. When I take a closer look at what is going on, it appears that all the pages and posts on my site are all duplicated. I then noticed that each page has a duplicate page with a URL that looks like:

    http://www.websitename.com/article/wwww.websitename.com

I don’t know why my site name is listed twice, both on the front and back of the URL and I don’t know how to fix it. I’m guessing this is why Google is giving me the smackdown – it looks like a bunch of duplicate content. I’m only moderately proficient at WordPress. Any ideas?

    Thanks

  • It’s hard to tell without knowing your setup. I’m guessing that can be some plugin misbehaving, also can be server or .htaccess issue… Hard to tell really, try to think did you made any big changes to your website recently?
