Theme Release: News Print v2.1

This is an upgrade of an old theme, the original post of which is strangely missing (although a year or so old now), so I thought I would announce it again.

News Print is a newspaper-style theme which is three or four columns wide (your choice). This is configurable with a configuration file, clearly written and commented so you can see what you need to change for getting categories in columns, order of posts appearing, featured post, and so on.

It has been updated extensively for this release with some css upgrades, adding in widget support, gravatar support, lots of SEO work, and some small finishing touches like linking dates to archives and so on.

This theme has now been updated to version 2.2.0 and the configuration bits and pieces moved to the WP admin backend. Much easier to manage and see the changes. The release page hasn’t changed from the one above.

Hello – I am using wordpress 2.6.3 and I would like to use this theme. the front page looks great but when you click on a single post I get the following error

Fatal error: Call to undefined function post_class() in /home/p2web/public_html/wp-content/themes/News Print v2/post-single.php on line 2

any idea what the issue might be?

Hey iheartpgh, that’s an issue with WP 2.6.3, upgrade to 2.7 and it should fix that.

Does the functions.php file have an empty line at the end of it?

Is it possible to modify that first 5 news in colomn will remain unchanged, other 5 will be shown by title, time and comments?
