    Hi,

    Hey, great plugin; just have two queries:

    1. I am looking to use Sportspress for a GAA (popular Irish sport) based scoring system.

    The system is as follows:

    Goal = 3 points
    Point = 1 point

    So for example, Team A finished with a score of 2 goals and 10 points. That would be equal 16 points total. Team B finished with a score of 3 goals and 8 points for a total of 17 points.

    So in that example 17 points > 16 points, so Team B wins.

    In terms of abbreviation and how things are displayed in GAA – in the above example it would be:

    Team A: 2-10 vs Team B: 3-8

    Could you include this preset in the next update?

    Happy to give you any additional info you might need.

    ========================================================

    2. In a similar vain to the above, the GAA positional list is as follows:

    ===================

    (1) Goalkeeper
    (2) Right corner back
    (3) Full back
    (4) Left corner back
    (5) Right half back
    (6) Center half back
    (7) Left half back
    (8) Midfielder
    (9) Midfielder
    (10) Right half forward
    (11) Center half forward
    (12) Left half forward
    (13) Right corner forward
    (14) Full forward
    (15) Left corner forward

    ====================

    Currently in Sportpress I can go into positions and setup the above – that works fine. The issue is how they are displayed. Currently the positions are ordered alphabetically. So when you go into an event and select a players position, instead of Goalkeeper showing at the top of the list, it shows center half back first.

    Would it be possible to somehow set it up to order the player positions as I have it above and not alphabetically?. e.g. create a drag and drop system for the positions page and/or add a WordPress order field so we can easily set where we want everything to layout…

    Thanks.

    @center11forward Thanks for your detailed feedback!

    We’ll definitely look into adding a GAA preset (or would it be better to have a separate preset per sport, like Gaelic football and hurling?)

    Regarding positions, they are actually being sorted by slug, so an easy way to force a particular order is to add a number before the slug of each position. For example,

    position: Goalkeeper
    slug: 0-goalkeeper

    position: Right corner back
    slug: 1-right-corner-back

    position: Full back
    slug: 2-full-back

    position: Left corner back
    slug: 3-left-corner-back

    etc.

    I hope this helps! Let me know about the sport preset, if we should separate sports or go with one GAA preset 🙂

    Hi Brian,

    Thanks for the quick reply.

    Gaelic football and hurling have the same positions and scoring system so no need for separate presets I think.

    That slug layout trick you suggested does not work. See the screen-shot:
    https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-J1bQaE3v2NTzdxZ2ZreWRXTEE/view

    As you can see, I set the following:

    position: Goalkeeper
    slug: 0-goalkeeper

    position: Right corner back
    slug: 1-right-corner-back

    position: Full back
    slug: 2-full-back

    However, despite doing that, it still orders the positions alphabetically instead of the Goalkeeper at the top of the list and so on…

    Thanks.

    Ah, I misunderstood. Player positions are sorted by slug when displaying player lists and grouping by position, but not in the dropdowns. I’ll add a note for us to change that in the next update.

    That is great.

    Does your company do any custom work to make the plugin integrate better with a premium theme; e.g. 3 hours work for x per hour?

    Thanks.

    @center11forward We don’t currently do any custom work. I can recommend Elto.com as their prices are quite reasonable.

    No bother.

    Thanks.

    Hey there,

    Any update on possibly a GAA preset?
    Also Center11Forward – can I ask you what site you created so I can take a look at what all you have done with your site?

    Cheers
    Ciaran
