• As I posted at Hammy, it would be nice if you two would work together help us implement Google PageSpeed’s recommendations.

Hammy solves the issue of serving compressed images that have to be rescaled on mobile. Hammy lets the browser ask for a smaller version. Unfortunately, Hammy creates this smaller version and doesn’t use Prizm’s optimized images (WordPress image sizes).

Maybe you could integrate plugins? If so, resizing only part of the images (a newly created size) would be great. AJAX Thumbnail Rebuild now serves this need – it doesn’t time out.

Also, I understand in case of changing image width (because of a new theme or different settings that create a smaller or larger space for the main content), all posts have to be updated to use the new image size. Would be great to see that improved over removing and re-adding all images 🙂

I created a separate post at Hammy as the issue I contributed before was marked “resolved”.

    Hi mackaaij,

Thanks for the feedback. We’ll definitely consider this for a future version. Website performance by optimizing images for web is what Prizm Image is all about.

Thanks for the input. Let us know if you have any other ideas that we can help you with.

    Regards,

    Tom
