    Hi JacobALund,

Some elements of The Events Calendar (like the ones you mention above) pull translations from the main WordPress translation files instead of The Events Calendar translation files. Make sure that you have the latest WordPress translation files for your language installed. If the strings still aren’t translating, you might want to get in touch with the translators to see if they can help.

    Thank you for the answer.

I have the newest version of the translation for my theme.

I’ve look everywhere in the different .po-files using Codestyling Localization for months and days written in English, but I can’t seem to find it anywhere.

Do you have any suggestions to where I should look in order to translate it?

    Hi JacobALund,

For the days of the week to be translated you need the actual version of WordPress in your language. Hopefully you can find your language in this list. Then add the extra files to your /languages folder and that should work.

That helped – thanks a lot!

… it did, however, not change the words “Today” and “Clear” – where do I change that?

Hi Jacob, how did you do that? I mean my website is multilingual so, I can’t change the language of my entire wordpress installation,
The days and months are appearing in English, I want to display them in Arabic when the user switches to Arabic language,

    Thanks

@jacobalund – If you give me a screenshot of where you’re seeing the untranslated pieces and let me know what language you are using, I can looking into this for you.

@iss_ib_90 – I’m sorry, but our plugin is not currently compatible with WPML or similar multi-lingual plugins. That’s probably when you are having trouble when switching. We are hoping to make them compatible in the future. If you’d like to stay updated, add your vote to the UserVoice page. We’ll update there as we go.

@leahkoerper – Thanks. I’m using Danish language , but the text that I have marked, still appears in English. I’ve tried looking pretty much everywhere but I can’t seem to find anywhere to change that.

    Hi Jacob,

The words you circled are not part of our plugin… it looks like they are being added by another plugin or via customization. If it’s another plugin, the strings would probably be in their translation files. If it’s a customization, it may just be necessary for you to update the Danish translation for the calendar to include those strings.

One easy option for you might be to use a string-by-string translation plugin like Say What. Hopefully you could then translate those strings successfully.

    I hope that helps!

    Hi again

Thank you for your suggestions. I have no idea what plugin may add the two words and I don’t recall adding it myself. I have therefore tried the plugin “Say What” as you suggested but I have not been able to make it work. I’m not really sure what to write in “text domain” or “text context”. I did however, write “today” in the original string and the translation in replacement string, but that did not change anything.

How do I update the Danish translation for the calendar? I think that’s pretty much the only thing I have not tried yet.

    Hi Jacob,

I’m sorry you’re having trouble with Say What. You might try posting in their support forum and see if they can help you out.

The Danish translation itself is updated, but you might try using the “Update from Sources” option in PoEdit. Otherwise you’ll need to dig into the origin of those two words further to figure this out. I’m sorry I can’t be of more help.

    Best,
    Leah
