• This plugin falsely claims to “automatically add a 301 redirection when a post’s URL changes”. It doesn’t actually automatically do that!

The plugin that actually does that can be found here.

You need to enable the option to monitor changes to posts.

Wow, that response is very revolutionary!
I am quickly running back to re-install the heavy plugin and gracefully scramble through the tangled settings to find and enable the option to monitor changes to posts. That’s very automatic, compared to the plugin I am currently using that requires no settings besides the initial installation.
    Thumbs up! 🙂

How incredibly crass. You do realize the author provides this for free and with considerable effort, right? For the record, ‘automatic’ doesn’t mean ‘by default’, so the author was 100% accurate in his description – once set, it does perform that task automatically. Enjoy your new plugin, I’m sure the author will be thrilled to have you.

Well, I was extremely violently angry when I wrote that review due to the frustration and disappointment I got when the plugin failed to do what it promised, during an urgent moment. I only managed to not make any threats or use bad language.
I know it is a free plugin, but if I give you a free non-functioning computer and claim that it automatically boots up I’m sure you would not be very grateful, and you would praise anyone who later gives you a functioning auto-boot up computer, whether free or not.
So, in your own galaxy, ‘automatic’ does not mean automatic by default, meaning that it means manually — you have to first manually set it. That’s not how popular dictionaries define ‘automatic’ unfortunately.

Interesting. I still have to turn on my ‘automatic’ wipers, and I believe my ‘automatic’ garage door opener requires a button press. And the last time I checked, an “auto-boot up” computer still requires a power button. But apparently in your world, things just “happen” huh? I guess I do live in a different galaxy than you then. Thank God.
