Why is my wordpress admin panel is displaying a Chinese Character?

    Hi all

    I’ve noticed something strange. This Chinese character temporarily appears in the admin panel, at the top, and then dissapears.

    My language setting is Latin (and hase never been set to Chinese).

    I did download Winamp the other day and it came bundled with Baidu Antivirus (which is Chinese), which got installed. I uninstalled it, but perhaps it is somehow still “lingering” in my system? Even if it is, should it interfere with wordpress? Could it be something else ?

    Does anyone know what the character says / means?

    Is it happenning in another computer?
    If you disable Java Script, still showing up?
    have you tried disable all plugins?
    Have you got any translate plugins?
    How about your browser extensions? Is that any translation one?

    I’ve never seen this, but it can be anything actually. Check using the chrome dev tools or firebug what kind of ID or HTML has been generating. You can do a research on your code using GREP(linux/mac) or in your IDE, depending on the ID/CLASS of your HTML.
