• I’m unable to access either the admin dashboard or the public sites of two WP installations. The common factor was that both were running Wordfence, which seems to have auto updated today. My Server error log shows:

[Wed Oct 15 07:20:39 2014] [error] [client 131.253.24.138] PHP Deprecated: Comments starting with ‘#’ are deprecated in /web/conf/php5.ini on line 1256 in Unknown on line 0

There are hosts of atteempts to access the sites by IPs that are said to be assigned to corporate sites. The above 131.253.24.138 is Microsoft IP and I see google, Wowrack.com and one from Germany among others.

I’ve also seen in the logs:

[Wed Oct 15 07:24:59 2014] [error] [client 99.230.38.131] Premature end of script headers: index.php
[Wed Oct 15 07:24:59 2014] [error] [client 99.230.38.131] Premature end of script headers: wp-login.php
[Wed Oct 15 07:24:59 2014] [error] [client 99.230.38.131] Premature end of script headers: index.php
[Wed Oct 15 07:24:59 2014] [error] [client 66.249.91.7] Premature end of script headers: index.php

I deleted Wordfence and reverted to a standard htaccess file with no change in pefromance.

I had accessed both sites earlier today and was addng a new post to one (www.abengnews.com) and lost connection while adding a photo and was unable to “Update”. I had intermittent access before complete inaccess.

Looking through the files via GoDaddy’s dashboard shows no added files or changed files except Wordfence and the htaccess files I changed.
