Hi there, which version of ACF are you using? I’ll look into it for sure since I use ACF often as well. But I can’t imagine why they would conflict since I used custom meta boxes with different class names completely. Anyway, let me know if you’re still trying to get it working and I’ll see what I come up with.
I ended up finding another solution for that project and have since updated the wordpress version. I believe it was something like version 3.8. I would still be very interested in making it work. I just tried to activate FooThumbnail Gallery on a WordPress 4.0.1 installation and received the following error when trying to activate the plugin:
Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home/hfatzing/public_html/wp-content/plugins/foothumbnails-for-galleries/includes/ftg-metaboxes.php on line 458
Thanks!
I am using ACF version 4.3.9
Hmmm… I JUST tested it on 4.0.1 without a hiccup locally. Any chance I can get a screenshot of your plugins page?
Sure. Here is a link to it: screenshot
Can you try disabling the TN3 Gallery and then activate FooThumbnails? That’s my best guess in terms of a plugin conflict because I can’t reproduce the error locally at all yet.
I just tried that but still got the same error.
OK. Well, in my testing last night I found a couple issues with the latest version of WordPress, but nothing that would cause that. Still, it looks like this needs some re-writing anyway. At this point, I wouldn’t expect a major update that might resolve this for you before the New Year. Look for it around mid-January. Wish it could be sooner, but I have actual “paid” work to do. I love this plugin, it was my first, and I’m committed to keeping it going, so don’t worry, “I’ll be back!”.
Thanks! I look forward to seeing what you have in store for it! I will keep it in mind for future projects.
Hi @mcawphoto,
Just wanted to give you a heads up that the heavily re-worked version of this in in the works. It should allow me to make updates and add new features much more seamlessly going forward. I hope to release it within the next couple weeks. Thanks!
