Disable Commens and date time in wordpress

    Hi

    I wondered if any knew how to disable the comments from a page in wordpress. Is this something I can do by editing my php files?

    Do you mean for ALL comments, or for just a few posts.

    You can turn comments off for a page simply by going to the bottom of the page and under Comments and Pings, disabling both options.

    Its an easy way to do it without hacking your template.

    If you want to completely remove them for pages, you need to remove it from the page.php file in your template. Assuming of course, you are really talking about WordPress Pages, and not just a post. 🙂

    Hi

    Thanks for the response.

    Yeah I am looking to turn this off completely in the pages. I have been customising the classic template that doesn’t have a page.php but other php files such as comments, index etc, which I’ve taken a look through. would you recommend I need to source some code to disable the comments in here?

    Hmm.. OK – try just renaming comments.php to something else, like NOcomments.php
