  • I also seem to be having the same issue.

It’s probably a conflict with another plugin. Try disabling other plugins and trying again. If that still doesn’t work, try enabling debug mode in Settings → Post Thumbnail Editor and trying it again. Your log file should have some interesting information in it then.

    Tried it, same issue.
    I’ll try the debug mode.

Another thing you can inspect is the javascript console (ctrl-shift-j in chrome and firefox) and see if any errors are occuring. Sometimes putting the plugin in debug mode actually solves problems people are seeing.

Sorry. In debug mode it will not access the crop page. Page stay empty… 🙁

anything in the javascript console or your log file?

    Nothing important:

    nothing in the javascript console?

    How are you starting PTE?

Maybe you could try a different browser?

    Thread Starter Christian

    (@visualframeworks)

Tried now Firefox in console, result:
    TypeError: $.fn.spin is undefined jquery.spin.js:94
ReferenceError: Backbone is not defined notes-common-v2.js:32
ReferenceError: Backbone is not defined admin-bar-v2.js:2
Error: Load timeout for modules: cs!csmain_unnormalized2,jquery
    http://requirejs.org/docs/errors.html#timeout require.js:8
    Error: Script error for: jquery
    http://requirejs.org/docs/errors.html#scripterror require.js:8

    Helpfull?

    Plugin Author sewpafly

    (@sewpafly)

Yes, this is an incompatibility issue between either another plugin or your theme. PTE doesn’t load backbone or those files…

OK, but in v.2.4.0 it works… still downgrade to 2.4.0.

    Plugin Author sewpafly

    (@sewpafly)

Interesting… Did you ever try 2.4.1?

    Thread Starter Christian

    (@visualframeworks)

No, do not get a update information for 2.4.1 and i am always checking…

    Plugin Author sewpafly

    (@sewpafly)

    2.4.1 is here: https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/post-thumbnail-editor.2.4.1.zip

The reason why I ask is that there were really minimal changes between 2.4.1 and 2.4.2, so the problem was probably introduced between 2.4.0 and 2.4.1. However, I don’t think that there were any javascript changes there, which appears to be the problem that you’re having. I’m really kind of stumped as to the exact issue that you have.

If you use < 2.4.2, just know that there is a security issue that was solved, where a logged on user could potentially delete thumbnails if they were tricked into specially crafted link. I’ll try using the windows version of safari, but if you could tell me which plugins you have enabled and your theme, I could try that too.

    Thanks for your help
