Backups start automatically during setup

    Hi David,

    I’ve noticed that on a fresh install of Updraft Plus, backups start at some point during my setting up. I think it might be after the first “save changes”, but before I’ve authenticated with Dropbox.

    This leads to some weird behaviour – like I’ve actually authenticated to Dropbox, but during the automatically-started backup, UD doesn’t think I have and errors out.

    Hi,

    Your first backup, if you have set a schedule, is scheduled for shortly after you press “Save Settings”.

    If you’re not yet ready for a backup, then don’t set a schedule (Daily/Weekly/etc.) until you are. i.e. Set storage to Dropbox and then authenticate Dropbox first; and then set the schedule when that’s done.

    Understood. But that causes the problem / confusion indicated above. I guess if nobody else reports it, it’s a “personal problem” 🙂
