• Hello all,

I encountered an error after updating to wordpress 4.0 .
The error is that I cannot upload any image to the site but the media library adds a tons of junk images with the filename I uploaded.

All my plugins are up to date and the folders the right permissions.

    Please advice,
    Thank you

  • In another thread, many people are having problems with the WPML-Media plugin. So if you have that installed, disabling it may solve your problem. It worked for me.

Otherwise, try disabling your plugins one-by-one until you find the problem. Version 4.x does seem to be causing some compatibility problems in the area of media uploads, is my impression.

    Thank you,

You are right. I deactivated WPML Media and now I can upload normally.
But at this point I cannot deactivated it because I am losing the multilingual
    functionality of my site.

Update your WPML Media plugin , they have fix this bug on the lest version

Do you have the very latest version of wpml-media? If not, updating would be a good start. If yes, contacting wpml support would be a good idea. You won’t be the first and from what I’ve seem, they seem unwilling to admit that it’s their plugin that’s causing the problem.

Yes I have the latest version of WPML Media. I did a massive update at my site two days before and this is what I missed.

I will contact the wpml support but I don’t believe that they will be any help
    for me as you mentioned.

    Thank you though.

I’m chasing them too. Will let you know if I have any luck. If you could do the same, I’d be grateful.

My mistake…. I do not have the very latest version of WPML.
    As I see here

    http://wpml.org/2014/08/wpml-3-1-7-improvements-wordpress-4-0-compatibility/

Wpml has new version for wordpress 4.0 which the fixed the problem with the WPML Media plugin as they say.

That’s good. How did you do the update?

I’m trying to activate automatic updates, without any success at the moment. Did you do that, or did you do a complete reinstall of the new version?

And if you did the complete reinstall, how did you do it: reinstall from the .zip downloads | copy the new files over the old ones | something else?

I didn’t updated the plugin I just downgraded the WPML Media and uploaded the files to the plugin. I also change the constant of the version into the plugin.php file in order to trick Woocommerce Multilingual.

I cannot find the upload files of WPML so I resolved in that way.

    OK. Thanks.
