Support » Networking WordPress » Domain alias only redirects to root, is this normal?

    On my non-main site I have an alias domain mapped. However, if the alias domain is used in conjunction with a page address, instead of going to the page it goes to root. Like so:

    Primary Domain: blog.domain.com
    Alias: alias.com

    alias.com/about -> blog.domain.com

    Is this normal? Is it possible to have this happen:

    alias.com/about -> blog.domain.com/about

    By ‘primary’ domain we generally mean the place where WP is installed. Since when you make a domain alias on your server, outside of WP, you should point it to where WP is installed, this does mean that an unmapped in WP alias.com will go to primaryinstall.com

    How are you mapping it inside WP? Are you doing it manually or using a plugin?

    My bad. I forgot some important details.

    I am using the Domain Mapping plugin.

    Also, I shouldn’t have called it primary domain. My primary domain, the main one that the multisite was set up from, would be domain.com. So it’s my additional blog that I am working on.

    Aaannnddd… I figured out the problem. Turns out another plugin was interfering. More specifically “Password Protected” which has its own redirect stuff going on.
