Installed Remote Media Libraries (shows as remote media lite), install routine appeared to function correctly, but when clicked to activate the plugin and got a catchable fatal error. I could no longer even access any of the admin menu areas. I had to FTP in and delete the plugin manually to regain control/access to the admin area of the site. I have a screen shot of the error message but do not see an email for you to send it to. I do not want to post this screen shot here seeing it contains information I do not want published worldwide.

If you have email I can send to let me know please.

    Thanks!

Ouch this looks bad. You can send me your screenshot at louismichel@onecodeshop.com

I will have a look and release a fix.

If you can also include the PHP version your are using, it will be helpful to reproduce the error on my side.

Thanks to let me know about that.

    Hi stardaug,

After some tests I found that this error occurs when trying to activate the plugin on a WP install that does not meet the plugin requirements.

Minimum Requirements are WP 3.5 and PHP 5.3.3

Unfortunately, there was an error in the plugin when trying to display a notice about WP install that does not meet basic requirements. I fixed this. The notice will be displayed correctly now. The fix will be available in the next release coming this week. Thanks for helping me fixing that!

Now in order to use the plugin real functionality you will need to upgrade you wordpress version and PHP version to meet the requirements.

I strongly encourage to use at least PHP version 5.4.

Hi – thanks for looking into this. I have confirmed that the PHP version the hosting is using is ver 5.3.1. The WP version is 4.0 so must be the PHP. Guess I can’t use your plugin unless the hosting upgrades PHP.

    Thanks!

    Thanks for the confirmation.

Note that a lot of hosts provides some configuration panel that allow you to choose the PHP version you want to use. You may want to check to see if this is available for you.

PHP 5.3.1 was released back on 19 Nov 2009, it would be a great idea to upgrade not really to make this plugin work, but first to make your site both safer and faster.

    Cheers!

For this hosting providing that isn’t an option. They say they will update to 5.4 but no planned date for that.

I have other sites on different hosting that are up to date. I will give your plugin a try on those and see how it goes.

    Cheers

    S.
