    Hi all,
this is a general strategy question and of course I am not asking for any code here or anything. Links with how-to info would be most welcome!!
What I would like to do is build an inventory of equipment for my company. I am not a programmer but I thought I’d give it a shot on my spare time.
So the basic idea is to have certain template pages with custom forms where certain users with certain credentials would be able to insert data via a customised form (incl. texts, file uploads etc) and create posts referring to each of the equipment. These posts would then have to be displayed to anyone as normal post pages.
I understand that I pretty much have two options here. I could start doing this from scratch using advanced custom fields plugin and lots of php coding or I could use combinations of plugins such as contact form 7 + Contact form to database plugin. Problem is that the second option will offer some limitations when it comes to editing submitted posts from front end or displaying posts programmatically etc.
So the question to the experienced programmers out there is this.. Are there any combinations of plugins that would do what I want to do (basically create, edit, delete posts from front end using custom form) or should I go for “from scratch” (which will also make me learn coding etc).

Thanks a lot for your time..
    Harry
