• When I try to access my blog, I am being taken instead to this page instead: wp-admin/install.php. The page says: \Welcome to the famous five minute WordPress installation process!
The form asks for my blog title and email address and has a button saying: Install WordPress. Apparently there’s a database error. When I went to the CPanel and checked MySql Database, it said it “was created with a different version of MySQL and cannot be read”. Please help.

  • Wonder if your host changed something with their database server?

If you can’t access your database via phpMyAdmin then a call to your host might be needed.

My web host yesterday posted an online status report saying they were having problems with a mysql server. But the trouble doesn’t seem to be over. I can now access my blog, see the home page, and post entries but I can’t see the extended posts and monthly archive pages. When I click on the “read more” and the monthly archive links, I see this message:

The requested URL was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Please help. I wrote to my host, who pointed to the status report. Since then I have not heard from them despite writing to them.

    Thank you.

There is nothing we can help with if you have a host problem. It should be obvious…
