  • It does exactly what you’d expect it to, plenty of content and a theme that fits the subject really well.

    A couple of criticisms would be….

    The front page has a lot on it and looks cluttered in places, i.e. where there are the logos of all the different distros, they could really use some padding to separate them out slightly.

    Is there a reason for the order that articles are organised on the front page – latest posts seems to come after a lot of other things, frequent visitors will be looking for latest posts first to see what is new since they last visited, so it often makes sense to have this nearer the top.

    When I hover over a link to an article the whole thing changes blue, but to actually click on it I have to go to that little circle in the middle, why can I not click anywhere in the blue section?

    Hello @johnpope!

    Thank you very much for you time.

    I will start with the last thing you pointed: the blue circle hover, it’s theme related, I know you can’t click everywhere on the blue to open the link, maybe in future updates that will change.

    You were right! -I moved latest posts to the top!

    Now, I will change how linux distros images are arranged.

    Thank you!

    My reaction:

    – Lose the picture for each post. I want to go to a site and see a list of posts, not a collage of meaningless pictures. They make it very difficult to tell at a glance what topics are posted, and waste a huge amount of space. Yes, I know that’s how Windows 8 apps do it. That’s why Windows 8 sucks.

    – You don’t allow comments on your posts. I don’t read blogs that don’t allow comments. It tells your readers that you think they’re stupid.

    – You have a pop-up that has a square where it should have an X to indicate how to close the pop-up. X means close window. Square does not mean close window.

    First ever looking such type of theme on wordpress, there are more faults on your blog and it loads even slow with logos.
    It’s better to remove Google Search Keywords from the front page.

    Hello!

    @britishtraveler

    Removed Google search keywords from the front page. Please explain a little about “more faults on your blog” and “logos”. Thanks.

    @phil Goetz

    Those featured images from every post are very important and they do tell what topics are posted if you have knowledge about Linux. Also they are used by Facebook when a link is shared or liked. About 95 % of every image from that website is highly compressed! (between 60 – 90%)

    I disabled comments because of the huge amount of spam I was receiving. I didn’t had other option….

    Please post a screenshot of the pop-up. I checked the website with three browsers and I don’t see any pop-up.

    Thanks!

    I mean the small banners tat is ubuntu, backtrack fedora and in this serial row.
