Lightbox Effects: Some options not working

Hi-

Under NextGen Configuration > Other Options > Lightbox Effects, the option “What must the lightbox be applied to? isn’t working right. The “Only apply to NextGen images” selection has no effect. Regardless of the option selected, NextGen displays an image in a lightbox even if it’s not in a NextGen gallery. Even images outside the WordPress directories are put into a lightbox, even offsite pictures.

I can add a “Click for a full sized image” link to an image in the image description of an image in a NextGen gallery and that works, and you can right-click on a image displayed in a lightbox and open it in another tab and that works, but I can’t directly link to an image on my site without it being displayed in a lightbox. Anyone else have this problem or is it just me and my world?

Running NextGen Version 2.0.66.27, WordPress 4.0, and Theme Twentyten.

@gsfergusson – Without a link to a specific post/page where this is happening it is hard to suggest any ideas for troubleshooting.

@gsfergusson – Thanks for the link! I’m seeing the effects you are describing but I cannot see why it would be happening.

I am not able to recreate the effect using the Shutter reloaded Lightbox Effect which appears to be in use on your site (and it is not displaying all of the elements I would normally expect to see).

Have you tried a different Lightbox Effect? Do you have other Lightbox Effects active on your site via another plugin?

Hi Cais-

Shutter is the only lightbox effect I’ve been using. I just went through trying the different lightbox effects and found that Highslide, Lightbox, and Thickbox don’t work at all and Shutter and shutter2 both seem to ignore the “Only apply to NextGen images” setting. However, it turns out, upon further testing, that Fancybox both works the way I want it to work, and looks good. I’m happy! I’m switching to Fancybox and moving on.
