initial slider load is blank then image just jumps in

we use soliloquy on pretty much all of our developments at my design firm. i noticed that all of our sliders do not take up any space in the browser until AFTER the first slide is loaded. before the initial slide loads, it is blank, and then the first image just JUMPS in. it looks very clunky and not very elegant.
The main issue, is that im trying to integrate some effects with wow.js and animate.css – the problem is that the elements that are being animated by virtue of showing in the viewport, are animating right away because they are BELOW a soliloquy slideshow. since the slideshow doesnt take any space, the animations happen right away. so the whole experience is really janky due to the fact that i cant get soliloquy to load FIRST and then the rest of the website to show up. is there a workaround for this?
