Zero column option in default gallery

Please can we add a zero column option to the existing select box when configuring a default gallery in WordPress. The option exists to add it to the shortcode (and is even mentioned in the codex) as a method to remove breaks from the gallery structure.

Fixing gallery columns with break tags makes it difficult to format the default gallery in a responsive layout as the column=”0″ option is lost every time you edit the gallery.

This is only a very basic change to the core, as shown in this image.
