• after reading several threads about the newer 2.0.4 version and seeing mixed reviews, is it really worth upgrading from v2.0.3? I have gone as far as to download the new version, just not install it. A lot of people have seemed to have issues with it. So far I’m not really having problems with 2.0.3 other than the random error when posting and the whole backslashes instead of apostraphies (despite having the plugin that is supposed to fix that)…

I have not upgraded from 2.0.2 yet because I see no benefit to doing so at this time. 2.0.3 was too buggy, and 2.0.4 adds nothing that I see as useful. There is a known security hole in 2.0.2, but it only affects you if you have other users, which I do not.

well thats the the other side of the coin, of course. Youre still being a responsible web master, you’ve taken the necessary steps to make sure your not a web disaster waiting to happen — a rougue box thats rooted by South Korean terrorists whose only intent is world domination via Google searches for exploitable phpBB installs.

    but I digress.

you digress? I just had a big lunch. I digest.

OK, so I’ve finally upgraded and I have a few problems…

One, I am now showing that each URI gets hit twice when someone goes there whereas before this did not happen. This of course is doubling the amount of bandwidth usage.

Next, it is no longer following my rewrite rules that I put into my htaccess file whereas before it was. No changes have been made by me.

also, ever since upgrading my site has been so slow…
