Network Activation broken. Using IIS 7.5. | WordPress.org

I installed the plugin with no problem, but when I attempted to “Network Activate”, the site responded with a 500 error.

The site is not otherwise broken, and I can uninstall and reinstall the plugin without incident, through the wp-admin screens, but I simply cannot Network Activate.

The problem is with the instructions provided. There are a lot of tutorials online that talk about how you have to install this plugin manually. They are correct. You also will not see it listed in the list of plugins.
