Role Manager Stability

I am considering using Role Manager plugin for an important site of mine and before I do I’d like to get an opinion on the stability of it through various new releases of WP. Has it historically stayed working though releases? If not, were the fix to Role Manager prompt? Is there anything inherent in the way the plugin is written or what it involves that makes it “touchy” to new WP releases and full versions?
