• I have a person creating like 10 files per day for us. I need that person to be able to upload the file and the person she sets have access to download it, then when they download it, mark it is downloaded and thus not let them see it again in the download section.

I can use custom capabilities to have her set who gets it, that can work, but how do I manage the files like that?

    For example, her uploading them.
Then the user seeing only those they never downloaded and once downloading it, then it be removed?

I thought s2 member had a way to do it, but I’m lost. I just am trying to make this efficient.

    Thank you.

  • Out of the box, s2Member provides a way of limiting file downloads by user role, but not by custom capability.

You will need some customization to get that working. krumch can probably do it for you — if you look at other topics on this forum, you will see he is often around here.

using “s2member Secure File Browser” plugin, it can handle Custom Capability, I just cannot find the part of the documentation that explains how to do it. Do you know where I can find a tutorial on it?

s2Member itself does file downloads by custom capability. The plugin you mention simply adds more functionality to that. (All the shortcodes for storage folders are available just with s2Member.)

My point was that s2Member does not provide a way of limiting downloads by custom capability. And, so far as I am aware, neither does that plugin.
