Password protection not working | WordPress.org

I’ve created a page and tried to password protect it by setting the visibility in the Publish pane to “Password protected”, entered a password, hit “OK” and then Updated. When I link to the page it doesn’t ask me for a password but simply displays the page. Any thoughts about what I’m doing wrong?

Did you also check Private? Are you still logged in when checking on the front-end?

No, I selected “Password protected” and entered a password. I can only seem to select one or the other.

And, no, I logged out when checking the site.

Is your site cached at all? In fact, what’s the URL?

I’ve refreshed the browser.

The link that goes to the password-protected page is under the Membership List section where it says “current membership list here.”

It’s password protected for me. Try clearing your cookies to test or maybe use Chrome’s Incognito mode to visit your site.
