I’m helping a friend with her site. When I logged into her WP dashboard, she had almost a dozen new updates. After updating all of the themes/plugins, I noticed the e-mail backup shows this:

Something went wrong with your backup. It looks like another process might already be trying to backup your database. Please try again in a few minutes. If the problem persists please contact support.

I disabled, and removed the plugin and reinstalled it, No go. Before I remove it for the last time (and find another one), is there any idea as to why this is happening?

  • Hey Mike,

Could you try unchecking Compress Backup Files in your Database Backup settings and see if that helps?

    Thanks,

Well, that didn’t work. I did some checking at she has a TON of tables, so I excluded them, and ran the backup and it worked. I re-checked ‘Compress Backup’ and ran it again, and it works fine now.

    Thanks Gerroald!
