Im working with a localhost and the files are writable for my user. But when I try to change the css in the theme editor, nothing happens.Why?

That link made my firefox crash.
Will that help my problem?

may be because of syntax error while changes.

What does that mean? Do I have to do something to fix the error?

check the file where you changes, check for syntax like missing braces or spelling mistake.

Normally that would usually be the problem, but in this case all I have done is change the color.
