Support » Installing WordPress » Blank index page

  • Hi, I have read a few other posts about similar problems, but i can´t get this to work for me.

I hade som problems with my earlier installation of wordpress, so I did a completely new install. New database, deleted all the old files. The installation went fine, the admin page is showing up just fine and i cant edit and write posts without problem.

But when i preview the site it is completely blank. I read in another post that there might be errors in the theme (strange since it is the standard theme… but I tried it anyway) so I tried to install a new theme without any result. BUT i did see that the preview of the themes dd not work eaither. (Maybe a clue?)

Anyone who has any idea what I should do?

  • I have the same problem. I upgraded my blog from 2.2.3 to 2.6.2. The admin panel works but the site is not showing up. I get the message: “The page isn’t redirecting properly”.
I’ve deleted al the plugins and all the themes exept the default one. Tried that one. I donwloaded a different 2.6.2 compatible theme and tried that too.
I’ve deleted all the uploads and put that back again.
After that I upgraded again… I tried to find error logs but I’m not really an expert in PHP and MySQL so I don’t know where to look for that.
The admin panel works and it looks so great! I want my blog to work too!!!
    Please help!!???

Just wanted to point out – I get no error page or anything – just a blank page (0 bytes)

Assuming that you are 100% sure that all the files wp-content/themes/default are properly uploaded you might see if changing the permissions on wp-content and sub-folders to 777 solves the problem.

    See:
    Changing File Permissions

    Unfortunately no changes… 🙁

    Not for me either.

Someone gave me this link: http://trac.wordpress.org/ticket/5089
There they mention a Cononical Redirect… ??? And they talk about a plugin. I tried this and it works for me! I really don’t understand it but I’m very HAPPY!!!

Hmm perhaps I´ll try that as well!

For me it worked to put the whole site in a subfolder… Strangely enough…
