• I would like to have the ability to migrate this information from http://www.savingantiquities.org/resources-3/references-3/ to another WP new site using theme x. Ideally the entries would be searchable by categories and different criteria. What is your recommendation? We prefer to use as little customization as possible, using native functionality instead.

Would this be possible by adding a second blog to the new site and treating each reference entry as a blog post, with the categories? Any information or advice is appreciated. If I should use a second blog, what is the best way to do this? And will the second blog have its own categories?
    I am not a developer.
    Thanks,

  • If you plan to setup a completely separate WordPress site, then the content of that site would be completely separate, too. So, yes, the second blog would have it’s own categories and structure.

Now, native WordPress comes with a search widget that allows for String searches. You can also create category specific menu item links for filtering purposes. For more information on that, please review: WordPress_Menu_User_Guide

Alternatively, you could look for a plugin that allows increased search functionality. You can find many to experiment with in the WordPress depository here. For example, the Relevanssi search plugin has many of the featured of your current search. (Note: That’s not a recommendation, just pointing it out to highlight some of the options).

Thank you so much for the response. Do you, or anyone else, recommend a developer who can help?
